How to play Craps?

Dice games are becoming more and more popular in most online casinos, and among the numerous titles, we cannot fail to mention Craps, a game that is certainly worth studying and playing. This is not only because it offers a dynamic and fun experience but also because it can guarantee relatively high winnings with a bit of method (and luck). But what are its rules? And above all, are there any strategies that are easy to apply and allow you to maximize your winnings. In this article, we read about How to play Craps?

Craps: dice game rules

If you have never approached this game, don’t worry: understanding how online Craps works is intuitive and straightforward, and its rules are not complex at all.

The protagonists are the dice, and more precisely, it is played with two six-sided dice. In turn, each player rolls the pair of dice, and this will be called Shooter. With each roll, bets will be placed on the results, and the Shooter continues to roll them unless a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 is rolled. In this case, the round is over, and the hand will pass to the next player, and so on. On the other hand, if the result is another during the first roll, then that number will become “the point”, and the turn will last until the player gets either a point or a 7. The goal is straightforward: to place bets trying to guess the results of each throw… and win!

Craps: betting

The first roll of the dice is called Come-Out, and this, as we have seen, can last several rolls: each registration can give rise to a score ranging from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 12. Here are the bets that can be made and, above all, how much they are paid:

  • Pass Line to play Craps

These bets win in two different cases. If the roll is 7 or 11, the chance is automatically won. If, on the other hand, the Come-Out is a point, then the bet wins. Only if the player, in subsequent rolls, first gets the end of any 7. On the contrary, if the first roll of the dice rolls a 2, a three or a 12, whoever has bet on the Pass Line loses. The same, of course, if after a roll with a point, a seven is rolled. This bet pays 1 to 1.

  • Don’t Pass Line

As it will be easy to guess, this bet is precisely the opposite of the Pass Line, except the 12, which does not represent a win, instead of a tie (there are cases where the link is the 2, and the 12 a winning bet, it depends on the casino you are playing at). In a nutshell, here, the bet is won if the first roll is a two or a 3. While with 7 and 11, you lose. If a point is rolled and a seven is rolled before being withdrawn, the bet is won, while if the end is moved first, whoever has bet on the Don’t Pass Line loses. The bet pays 1 to 1 if you win.

  • How in this case

We have a bet precisely identical to the Pass Line, but with the difference that it can always be made, and not just after the opening roll. Here, too, the payout is 1 to 1.

  • Don’t Come

The same is true for Don’t Come, which has the same rules as the Don’t Pass Line—same payment: 1 to 1.

  • Buy Bets to play Craps

With this bet, you bet that a number between 4 and 10 will come out before a seven is rolled. It is paid 5 to 1 on numbers 6 and 10. 5 to 2 on 5 and 9 and 4 to 3 on 6 and 8. There is a 5% commission on winnings.

  • Lay Bets: here we bet on 7, which must come out as soon as possible. Again there is a 5% commission on winnings. The bet is paid 1 to 2 on 4 and 10, 5 to 6 on 6 and 8 and finally 2 to 3 on 5 and 9.
  • Place Bets: With this bet, the player bets on a single number. You can choose to bet on Place Win, which means that 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 will come out before seven or a Place Lose, which is the exact opposite. The first ones are paid 7 to 6 on 6 and 8, 7 to 5 on 5. And 9, and finally 9 to 5 on 4 and 10. Instead, the Place Lose are paid 4 to 5 on 6 and 8, 5. To 8 on numbers 5 and 9 and 5 to 11 on 4 and 10.
  • Big 6: you bet on the six before the 7. The bet pays 1 to 1.
  • Big 8: the same thing regarding the number 8.
  • Horn Bets: Bet on 2, 3, 11 or 12. The bet pays 15 to 1 on 3 and 11 and 30 to 1 on two on 12.
  • Fields Bets to play Craps

Before a roll, you go to bet on a score between 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12. If 4, 9, 10 or 11 are rolled, the bet pays 1 to 1. If instead of two are rolled or 3 pays 2. To 1 and finally 3 to 1 if 12 is rolled.

  • Hardway Bets: With this bet, the player bets that a result will be made up of double numbers (e.g. a six made up of 3 + 3). In this case, we are talking about a problematic 6, or Hard. You lose when the same number comes up, but with an effortless combination (e.g. 4 + 2, 5 + 1 and so on). If 4 or 10 are rolled, the bet pays 7 to 1. While for 6 and 8, it pays 9 to 1.
  • Any Seven: with this bet, you guess a seven will come out on the next roll. Pay 4 to 1.
  • Any Craps: It is assumed that the next roll will result in a score of 2, 3 or 12. If you win, this bet pays 7 to 1.

How to Win at Craps: Strategies and Tips

Once you understand the rules, start playing to get a little carried away. The outcome of the dice cannot be predicted, and therefore there are no foolproof methods that allow you to win with confidence at Craps. Indeed, a good strategy can be to start with the most straightforward bets, which pay 1 to 1, but with a bit of consistency, you can accumulate a nest egg, which is also helpful in attempting more complicated bets.

If you are starting, discard the more complex bets such as Any Seven or the Horn, and if you want to try to apply progressive betting methods similar to those that can be used to roulette, such as the Fibonacci method. Remember, however, that often with these methods, there is little margin unless you invest large sums of money right away.

A good strategy to play Craps

To start with, can be bet ten units on Don’t Pass Line. And six teams on Big 6 and Big 8. In this way, if you roll a 7, you will only lose two units, and if before the 7, there will be a 6 or 8, you can get some decent earnings.

Finally, remember to play responsibly and not get carried away if you are far below: craps are mostly a game of luck, and there are some bad days when you need to know when to stop.
